Myself I have been a photographer for 35 years, started out in high school. I first started my journey into the photo world with a Pentax K1000 film camera that I purchased for $69.95.
I came home with it and tried to understand all about these f-stop and shutter speed things and it drove me crazy, so what I did when I went out to take photos I would take several pictures of the same thing at different f-stops and shutter speeds and wrote them down on a pad of paper, then when I got by pictures back, I looked what I did right and what I did wrong.
Believe me I went thru a lot of rolls of film, and a lot of processing charges since I did not develop my own film, so you can say I taught myself. In the long run it helped me through the years. Now I can just look at something and I can tell you how to set a camera to take the photo. I think as God’s gift to me I also have done many weddings, photo contests, and fairs.
Over the years I have won 15 purple ribbons, many yellow and honorable mentions. I also won 1987- certificate of 8th annual municipal art commission from Mayor Berkley. My photo was on display at Kansas City Nelson Art Gallery for 6 months, then on tour across Kansas, for a year. I Love Photography, it’s kind of in my blood. Most of all I enjoy playing with light.
My biggest project now I’m doing is Infrared. Hopefully you will some from me this summer, also please feel free to stop by my Facebook photo page.
